JAMMU, AUG 23: In a bid to enhance voter participation and streamline the electoral process in the upcoming Assembly Election 2024, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jammu and Kashmir, Pandurang K. Pole, has called upon voters to take full advantage of the mobile applications introduced by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Pole emphasised the importance of these voter-friendly technologies, which are designed to ensure a smooth and transparent voting experience for the 88.03 lakh voters in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The ECI has launched several mobile apps, including cVIGIL, Know Your Candidate (KYC), Suvidha, and the Voter Helpline App, to facilitate a seamless voting process across the country. Voters in Jammu and Kashmir are encouraged to utilize these tools to ensure their active participation in the democratic process,” the CEO stated.
These applications, available on both Android and iOS platforms, aim to empower voters and candidates alike by providing vital information and services at their fingertips.
The cVIGIL app allows citizens to report any violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) or election expenditure norms. Voters can submit live photos and videos with auto location data, enabling swift action by flying squads within 100 minutes of the report.
The Know Your Candidate (KYC) app offers voters access to detailed information about the candidates, including any criminal antecedents. Voters can search for candidates by name or constituency, ensuring informed decision-making at the polls.
For candidates and political parties, the Suvidha app serves as a single-window platform for obtaining necessary permissions for campaign activities. Whether it’s organizing rallies, meetings, or managing logistics like vehicles and helicopters, the app simplifies the process, ensuring timely approvals.
Finally, the Voter Helpline App provides a comprehensive suite of services, from checking names in the electoral roll to submitting forms and filing complaints. Voters can also access contact details for election officers and track the status of their applications.
The CEO also urged all candidates and political parties to make the most of these digital tools, further encouraging them to visit the official portal at [https://suvidha.eci.gov.in](https://suvidha.eci.gov.in) for additional information.
