Many houses were damaged besides Srinagar Leh highway blocked after a massive landslide hit Rezan area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday evening
An official told Rising Kashmir that a massive landslide hit Rezan area in which many houses were damaged besides Srinagar Leh highway was also blocked.
As soon Police along with Tehsil administration reached there to review the situation.They said that we have shifted the family to Safer places, however rescue operation is underway .
The sources said that many cattles buried alive under the landslide.
Meanwhile, Police issued statement regarding this and said, “A landslide has triggered at Rezin, Gagangeer, leading to blockage of National Highway. Some houses have been damaged by slide however no loss of life or injury is reported.”
“Area has been cleared, and residents of the affected area have been moved to safer places. Rescue Teams of District Police, SDRF, and CRPF are at the spot. Senior Officers of Revenue and Police are also present on the spot and monitoring the situation closely. National Highway will be cleared with the help of Beacon authorities”, it said.
