Kupwara mum gives birth to quadruplets, 3 die shortly

Srinagar, Oct 23: A heart-wrenching yet awe-inspiring incident unfolded in Kupwara, in North Kashmir, as a courageous woman defied all odds to give birth to quadruplets on Monday.
This extraordinary event, however, was marked by a mixture of joy and tragedy, as three of the newborns lost their lives shortly after their birth.
The four newborns -three boys and one girl, were born prematurely, in the 28th week of the pregnancy.
The woman, who exhibited incredible strength throughout her pregnancy, began experiencing labour pains, prompting an urgent referral from the Primary Health Center (PHC) in Keran to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Kupwara for immediate medical attention.
“Meanwhile, a doctor at DH Handwara confirmed the deaths of the trio and stated that they died due to being underweight. The doctor mentioned that in the case of quadruplets, there are hardly any chances of survival.”
