Srinagar, Dec 03: Kashmir Law Circle celebrated Lawyers Day on Saturday at Kashmir Law College Nowshera Srinagar.felicitated and honoured budding legal luminaries and Law students to mark – ‘The Lawyers of India on Day’ 3 December.
The event, which was held in Kashmir at Kashmir Law College, coincided with the birth anniversary of India’s first President and a lawyer by training, Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
Appreciating the legal profession’s contribution, chief speaker of the Session, Child Rights Lawyer, Syed Mujtaba said, “India’s legal community plays a very significant role in shaping some foremost reforms.”
Lawyers belong to an independent profession, they are directly in contact with society in its entirety as they have to deal with all kinds of problems of people from all sections of society, so the lawyers are actual social engineers, Mujtaba said.
Principal Kashmir Law college and former District Judge said, Lawyers have been always active in providing legal aid, improvement of legal education, maintenance of high professional conduct and discipline
He appreciated the organisers to hold such conferences and seminars in future as well.
The program was followed by signature campaign/pledge titled as “I pledge to make justice prevail.”
