Srinagar, Oct 26: Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF) Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav on Saturday said that coordinated response is being formulated to thwart terrorist attacks in future, along with a thorough threat analysis is being conducted.
Responding to a query about the security situation following the recent spike in terror attacks in the valley, he said BSF is aware of emerging threats and coordinated response is in progress while we are closely working with other agencies,” he said.
Speaking to reporters during the passing out parade of 629 new BSF recruits at STC Humhama, IG BSF Yadav said that detailed threat analysis is being carried out, and steps are being taken accordingly.
Regarding the potential for increased infiltration attempts before the snowfall, he said that while there may be such efforts, BSF, along with the army, is maintaining a strong counter-infiltration grid, and we will ensure every attempt is foiled,’ he added.
The IG further highlighted that the 629 new recruits have received modern training and will be deployed at various frontiers to serve the nation.
Meanwhile, PRO BSF Kashmir said that a grand passing out parade and attestation ceremony of Recruit Batch No. 124, 125, 126 and 127 was held at Subsidiary Training Centre, BSF, Kashmir. The ceremony marked the induction of 629 Recruits into the Border Security Force (BSF) as brave Seema Prahari in General duty.
He said that the recruits, hailing from various states across India, including Madhya Pradesh (03), Chhattisgarh (262), Telangana (150), Tamilnadu (01), West Bengal (140), Odisha (04), Nagaland (41) and Mizoram (28) underwent rigorous training to prepare themselves for border security challenges as well as law and order duties.
He said LG J&K, Manoj Sinha graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He inspected the parade and appreciated the recruits’ display of self-confidence, skill and coordination. Lt Governor encouraged the recruits to serve the nation with courage and enthusiasm.
The spokesman said that Chief Guest awarded medals to outstanding recruits and congratulated Inspector General, STC/Ftr HQ BSF Kashmir and the instructional teams of STC BSF Kashmir for their tireless efforts. Five trainees from each batch received trophies for exceptional performance during the course of training, he said.
“The 44 weeks of training program equipped recruits with proficiency in handling various weapons, firing skills, border management, physical efficiency and endurance, field craft & tactics, counter-terrorism, counter- insurgency, law & order and human rights,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, the passing out parade was attended by senior officers from civil administration, Army, Air Force, CRPF, SSB, J&K Police, BSF personnel and their family members.
