Srinagar, Sept 09: Jammu and Kashmir is set to hold Ayushman Bhava, an umbrella of various health care initiatives to ensure saturation in coverage of health schemes on mission mode, officials said.
Sanjiv M. Gadkar, Chief Executive Officer, State Health Agency, J&K said that the Ayushman Bhava is a campaign started by the National Health Authority throughout India from 13 September to 31 December.
“There are many activities that are proposed to be conducted including creation of Ayushman Bharat Cards. There will be a Gram Sabha which will be conducted for the saturation of Ayushman Bharat,” he said.
Under the campaign, screening of children would be done at Anganwadi Centres and govt. schools to ensure universal coverage of all children in a mission mode approach.
“It aims to improve the quality of life of children and provide comprehensive care to children in the community. Screening of children would be held from birth to 18 years for 4Ds-Defects at birth, Development Delays, Deficiencies and Diseases,” the CEO said.
During the campaign Ayushman Sabha, a village-level awareness would be organized that would be led by the Gram Panchayat. On-spot registrations and creation of golden cards, BHA IDs will be ensured 100 percent.
“People would be informed about the beneficiaries who have got treatment under PM-JAY and empaneled hospitals in the area with PM-JAY. Health talks for awareness generation on NCDs, Golden Card, ABHA ID, experience sharing by PM-JAY beneficiaries, TB Champions,” he said.
Ayushman Mela would be conducted weekly on Saturday of each week at all AB-HWCS and every mela shall have a main theme with common services.
“Week-1 would focus on NCD screening, week-2 on TB, leprosy and other communicable diseases, week-3 will focus on maternal and child health, nutrition and immunization and week 4 on mental health services, eye care and ENT services,” the CEO said.
Also special Ayushman Melas would be held at CHCs to reach to those who are excluded from speciality health services, to make available speciality medical services up to the block level which have a shortage of specialist doctors and to ensure clinical material and training of medical colleges.
Officials said the other activities include mapping of medical colleges to CHCs, by district health society. The medical colleges will hold at least one camp every week and for further treatment the patient will be referred to the concerned medical college.
The Ayushman Gram Panchayat is envisaged to achieve 100 percent coverage of Golden Cards for eligible beneficiaries, ABHA ID generation for beneficiaries, assessment using CBAC, screening of NCDs, immunization of all pregnant women and eligible children, presumptive TB examination and 100 percent initiation of TB treatment of identified cases.
Officials said these activities would be held in collaboration with concerned stakeholders like health department, school education, social welfare, Panchayat Raj, RDD and Tribal Affairs.
