Srinagar, Oct 06: As Jammu and Kashmir prepares for the vote counting in the ongoing Assembly elections on October 8, authorities have implemented tight security measures to ensure a peaceful and orderly process. Security forces, including local police, paramilitary units, and other law enforcement agencies, will be deployed at every counting venue to maintain law and order throughout the day.
An official from the Jammu and Kashmir Election Office confirmed that extensive preparations have been made to secure the counting venues. “We are working closely with local authorities, and security personnel will be stationed in multiple layers to prevent any disruptions,” the official said.
In preparation for the vote counting, stringent measures have been adopted at all counting centers. Surveillance cameras have been installed to monitor activity and ensure transparency. The official further explained that each counting venue will be divided into zones with dedicated entry points for candidates, agents, and election officials.
“Armed forces will patrol the perimeters of the centers, while quick response teams will be on standby to address any emergent situations,” the official added.
To prevent crowding and potential disturbances, restrictions will be imposed on unauthorized individuals at the counting centers. “Access to the venues will be limited to authorized personnel only. No one, other than election agents, officials, and observers, will be allowed to enter the premises,” he stated.
The Election Commission of India’s guidelines will be strictly followed to ensure the safety of voters, officials, and everyone involved in the counting process. “All necessary protocols have been established to create a secure environment,” the official assured.
The Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir were held in three phases on September 18, September 25, and October 1. Counting of votes will take place on October 8.
