Jammu , Apr 12: Prime Minister, NarendraModi, on Friday said that Assembly elections would soon be held in J&K and this Union Territory (UT) will also get its Statehood as the peace has been here due to continuous efforts of BJP Government in the last ten years.
“The day is not far when Assembly elections would be held in J&K and it also gets Statehood,” Modi proclaimed, underscoring the potential influx of international companies eager to invest in the region once statehood is restored. He emphasized that such investments would catalyze further development in J&K.
Highlighting the significant strides made in the past decade, Modi touted the establishment of prestigious institutions like AIIMS and IIMs, along with the development of expressways in the region.
“Schools are now not burnt in J&K but are decorated,” adding that the J&K has now moved ahead from ‘no hope’ to ‘new hope’,” he added.
Modi envisaged the forthcoming Assembly elections as an opportunity for the people of J&K to engage with their representatives and articulate their development needs and concerns. He stressed that a strong government is essential for overcoming challenges, citing the BJP’s steadfast governance in J&K despite adversities.
Reflecting on the government’s achievements, Modi highlighted the resolution of long-standing issues faced by the people of J&K, including access to power, tap water supply, and free ration. He noted significant improvements in infrastructure, with previously underserved villages now enjoying power and road connectivity.
“J&K has completely changed in the last 10 years, and big companies are eager to invest here,” Modiasserted, underlining the remarkable transformation witnessed in the region.
Modi said that he will work 24X7 to fulfill the dreams of people of J&K adding, “I have special relationship or affiliation with J&K”.
He said that this LokSabha election is not about just electing MPs but a strong government. “When you have a strong government, it fights all challenges despite all odds as you have seen in the last 10 years in J&K,” Modi said.
The PM Modi said that the problems faced by people since the 60 years have solved by his government due to confidence reposed by the people.
“When I last visited here 10 years back, I promised to solve the problems which the people had been facing since the last 60 years,” Modi said, adding, “Now, people have been getting power, tap water supply and also free ration”.
