JAMMU, Sept 07: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a strong message, on Saturday, said that in these Assembly elections, the Jammu region will decide who will form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), and he appealed to BJP workers to expose the divisive agenda of the NC-Congress alliance.
“Gone are the days when others from somewhere else used to take decisions for forming the government in J&K,” Shah stated while addressing a massive election rally at Manhas Sabha in Janipur, Jammu. “Now, this time, the people of Jammu will decide who will form the next government in J&K,” he reiterated, urging party workers to expose the divisive agenda of the NC-Congress alliance.
This Assembly election is the first in J&K to be held without the shadow of Article 370, two Constitutions, and two Pradhans, the Home Minister emphasised. He reiterated, “There would be no talks with Pakistan until it stops sponsoring terrorism in J&K.”
Amit Shah further asserted that the NC-Congress alliance would never be able to form a government in J&K. “Take my word; it is also written on the wall that an NC-Congress alliance government will never be formed in J&K,” Shah declared amid thunderous slogans from the crowd.
In his 45-minute address, Shah criticized the NC-Congress for dethroning Maharaja Hari Singh, who integrated J&K with India, and added that the people of Jammu would teach them a lesson in these Assembly elections.
Addressing the ‘Karyakarta Sammelan’, Shah said, “We just don’t have to defeat them, we have to seize their deposits. The movement started by Pandit Prem Nath Dogra was ended by PM Modi Ji on August 5, 2019. It is a coincidence that the first election rally of BJP is starting on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi and we all know that Lord Ganesh destroys all the obstacles of the path. I want to express my gratitude to the citizens on this occasion. The upcoming elections are historic elections. For the first time, since the country’s Independence, the voters of Jammu and Kashmir will cast their votes under the tricolour. For the first time, votes will be casted under the Constitution of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and not under two constitutions. For the first time, no any PM will sit in Jammu and Kashmir as only one person can be PM. These elections are results out of the shadow of the article 370 and we have seen its results in Lok Sabha elections.”
The rally was also attended, JK election in-charge Kishan Reddy Gangapuram, Tarun Chugh, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Shah claimed, there has been a 70% decline in terrorism, and over 5.60 lakh yatris successfully undertook the Amarnath Yatra this year. In the peaceful atmosphere ensured by the BJP government in J&K, Shah noted, “Tazia processions have been taken out in Kashmir after many years, and night theaters have also started operating in Kashmir.”
Shah attributed these achievements to the continuous efforts of PM Modi. He accused the Abdullahs, Muftis, and Gandhis of looting millions and claimed their collective corruption exceeded the total corruption in the country before 2014. These three families, Shah said, stalled development works in J&K, but the people would show them the exit door in these elections.
“Rs 32,000 crore worth of development works have been undertaken in Jammu under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regime,” Shah noted, highlighting the establishment of AIIMS, IIT, IIM, and many other colleges in J&K by PM Modi.
BJP’s strength lies in its booth-level workers, Shah asserted, urging booth presidents to ensure that four families cast their votes before 11:30 am on election day.
Shah accused the NC-Congress of wanting to snatch reservation rights from Paharis, Gujjars, Bakerwals, and Dalits but vowed that the BJP would not allow that to happen. He also criticized their manifesto, stating that their promise to restart LoC trade would funnel money into funding terrorism.
“By releasing stone pelters, the NC-Congress wants to push Rajouri and Poonch, the peaceful areas of Jammu, towards terrorism, but we will never let this happen,” Shah stated.
Shah also highlighted the record 58.46% voter turnout in the Lok Sabha polls in J&K, noting that it previously hovered around 10%, indicating a change in the situation and the establishment of peace in J&K.
He assured that PM Modi had restored the honour to Jammu and that the BJP would never allow the return of Article 370.
