Srinagar, Aug 14: The Mantaqi Centre for Science & Society (MCSS), Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) on Wednesday organised a talk on the theme of ‘University-Private Sector Collaboration’.
The talk is part of the ‘Distinguished Speaker Series’ aimed to expose the scholars and faculty to the global best practices, the university said in a press release.
The talk was delivered by Dr Ki HeeRyu, a Professor at the Institute of Green BioScience and Technology, South Korea. The program was chaired by Vice Chancellor, IUST, Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo.
In his address, Prof Ryu shared valuable insights on the significance of collaboration between academic institutions and the private sector. He highlighted how such partnerships can enhance capacity development, foster social entrepreneurship and generate revenue, thereby broadening research horizons.
Prof Romshoo, in his remarks, highlighted the importance of fostering such collaborations to drive innovation and real-world impact. “IUST is committed to developing with the private sector, as it is essential for translating academic research into tangible societal benefits,” he said.
The talk was convened by Prof Javid Hussain Mir, Professor of Practice at MCSS, who facilitated the session and ensured a meaningful exchange of ideas.
