Srinagar, Sep 27: Department of Youth Services and Sports Anantnag kick-started district level Inter Zonal Annual Athletic Meet at Sports Stadium Anantnag Tuesday.
On the first day, 210 athletes drawn from 12 zones of the District took part in the different jumping, throwing and running events.
Earlier before the start of the meet a pledge against drug abuse was administered to the Athletes along with the Technical Officials under theNashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan.
In 100 MTR, SakibNisar of zone Srigufwara bagged Gold, OwaisMushtaq of Zone Shangus bagged Silver, while as Muhammad Adnan Dar of Zone Verinag bagged Bronze Medal.
In 200 mtrs event Burhan Bashir of Zone Anantnag bagged Gold, Ahsan Mushtaq of Zone Srigufwara Bronze and FaizanFayaz of Zone Mattan bagged Bronze Medal.
In 400 Mtrs event Muhammad Hasib of Zone Anantnag bagged Gold, Raja Mohsin of Zone Shangus bagged Silver and NaseeburRasool of Zone Vailloo bagged 3rd place.
In the 600 Mtrs event KifayatNabi of Zone Achabal bagged Gold, Junaid Sheikh of Zone Ashmuqam bagged Silver and SayidShowkat of Zone Qazigund bagged Bronze Medal.
In 4×100 Mtrs ‘Relay Race Zone’ Srigufwara bagged Gold Zone Shangus Silver and Zone Mattan bagged Bronze Medal.
In High-Jump MunefHussain Dar of Zone Doru bagged Gold, Zeeshan Ahmad Dar of Zone Srigufwara bagged Silver and Muhammad Ashraf Bhat bagged Bronze Medal .In long-Jump Hazim Bilal of Zone Antantnag bagged Gold,AarifShabir of Zone Bijbehara bagged Silver and Bilal Ahmed of Zone Ashmuqam bagged Silver Medal.
