Srinagar, Apr 03: The school education department has initiated an enrollment drive process in all districts of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory to bring back dropout students and admit new students to government schools for the academic year 2024-2025.
According to an official from the School Education Department, the enrollment drive is being carried out in every village and district of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
The slogan for this drive is “Each one Bring one”.
“The main objective of this enrollment drive is to reintegrate dropout students into schools and encourage new admissions to government schools,” official said
He said that all chief education officers have been instructed to conduct daily enrollment drives in their respective districts. As a result, these drives are being conducted on a daily basis in every village of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Teachers are visiting people’s homes to enroll their children in government-run schools, assuring them of quality education provided by qualified teachers,” an official said.
He said that the Headmasters and zonal educational officers are actively conducting enrollment drives in their jurisdictions across Jammu and Kashmir.
“During the drive, teachers are launching door-to-door campaigns in every village. They are also counseling parents who are not sending their children to school, emphasizing the importance of education for their children,” the official added.
Furthermore, special awareness campaigns such as rallies, walks, corner meetings with communities, and flex banners inviting parents to enroll their children in government schools are being carried out as part of this enrollment and retention drive in government schools.
Dr. Piyush Singla, the Administrative Secretary for the School Education Department in Jammu and Kashmir told Rising Kashmir that a comprehensive enrollment drive is currently underway. The aim is to ensure that all school children who were previously left out are included, as well as facilitating fresh admissions into government schools.
