Srinagar, Aug 20: To ensure the effective execution of the cleanliness mission in rural areas of the Union Territory, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday established a committee to review and monitor the implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the order, a copy of which lies with Rising Kashmir, the committee is chaired by the Administrative Secretary of the Finance Department, with members from the Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department, the Director General of Rural Sanitation, and the Directors of Rural Development for both Kashmir and Jammu.
The committee will monitor the progress, review implementation strategies, and facilitate the coordination among various departments to ensure smooth execution of the mission.
The committee will also address issues that may arise during implementation and ensure the timely notification of policies related to operations, maintenance, and collection of user charges, it added.
