GDC, Tral lifts both Men, Women title of District Pulwama Softball Championship

Pulwama, Aug 29: District Pulwama Softball championship organized by Softball Association of Pulwama under the auspicious of J&K Softball Association in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council concluded here at J&K Sports Council facilities Sports Stadium, Bajwani, Tral in Pulwama on Tuesday.
Over 270 young players from different Registered Clubs, Colleges & Schools of Pulwama District participated in Sub-Junior (Boys & Girls), Junior (Boys & Girls) and Senior (Men & Women) age groups.
Mohammad Iqbal Beigh Softball NIS Coach presided function as Guest of Honour.
Physical Director of Govt Degree College Tral, Principal of participating Schools, Physical Education Teachers of various schools & Club Heads were also present as Special Guests on the valedictory ceremony.
Chief Guest on concluding said that Softball Association of Pulwama organized such a beautiful championship in extreme professional manner, he said that we hope regular club level tournament will continuously be organised by Softball Association of Pulwama and take this beautiful sport to great height in Pulwama.
He also appreciated the initiative taken by the District association to start Club level tournaments which will definitely be fruitful for upliftment of Softball Sport in J&K. 
He specially thanked to Madam Nuzhat Gul Secretary J&K Sports Council for her tremendous support to revive this Olympic Sport of Softball in UT of Jammu & Kashmir.Softball has been revived in all districts of J&K UT due to sincere efforts of Secretary Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council.
Waseem Raja Khan lauded the tremendous support of the Feroz Ahmad Bhat Secretary, Aaqib Sayeed President Softball Association of Pulwama & Technical team headed by Sameer Ahmad Dar as Chief Tournament Director and his team who made this event grand success which consists Zahoor Ahmad, Shakir Yousuf, Haris Nazir & Yawar Gani Laway.
Later, the Chief Guest distributed medals, trophies among the winner and runner-up and third place teams and encouraged them for further upgrading their sports skill in this potential game.
The championship was fully sponsored by Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council.
