Ganderbal, Jan 10: In view of the wet forecast by the Meteorological Department, the district administration Ganderbal is fully prepared to deal with any situation in case of heavy snowfall.
An official said that snow clearance machines have been mobilized by the Mechanical Engineering Department Ganderbal. “Given the MeT forecast, the administration is fully prepared; machines have been kept ready to remove snow from roads,” Executive Engineer R&B Division Ganderbal Tatheer Manzoor told Rising Kashmir.
He said that modern machinery and reasonable staff are available to tackle the post-snowfall situation. “Proper mechanism is in place to clear snow from roads in a hassle-free manner,” he said, adding, “As compared to last year, the number of zones for snow clearance has been doubled from 7 to 28 to increase efficiency.”
The joint control rooms are being set up for people in case of emergencies during the snowfall, he added.
