Former Commandant BSF joins NC

Jammu, Jan 06: Former Commandant BSF Dr Karnail Singh joined National Conference in the presence of the party president Dr Farooq Abdullah.
Welcoming Dr Singh, Dr Abdullah chief described National Conference as a “mass movement that has all along stood for the just cause of the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and strived for development and progress of each region with a sense of commitment”.
Dr Abdullah hoped that with the joining of Dr Karnail Singh, the party will be further strengthened at the grassroots level.
“A strong National Conference is a key to steer Jammu and Kashmir to peace, progress and development besides meeting the challenges confronted to the region,” he said, according to a statement issued here.
Dr Karnail Singh pledged to carry forward the mission of National Conference in “transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a peaceful and progressive area with devotion and dedication”.
Those who joined the party include Madan Lal, Kamlesh and several supporters. Those present on the occasion were Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal Additional General Secretary, Provincial President Jammu Mr Rattan Lal Gupta, Israr Khan and others.
