The Geology and Mining Department on Saturday seized five tippers that were carrying crusher bajri and sand without a royalty challan in Lasjan Tengan area in B. K. Pora Tehsil in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, District Mineral officer (DMO), told the Rising Kashmir that he, along with his team, have conducted checks at several places in B.K. Pora Tehsil.
“During the checkpoint at Lasjan Tengan Nowgam, 5 vehicles were carrying crusher bajri and sand without royalty challan.” “All five vehicles have been seized on the spot,” Bhat said.
He said that these vehicles have been handed over to Police Station Nowgam for retention until their release after realisation of the fine under the relevant sections of law.
