The Hogam Sports championship which started on September 26 concluded on September 27 (Tuesday) was held under the aegis of Hogam Federation of India.
As per the officials around 200 players from different districts, schools, and clubs participated in the championship and showcased talent.
The championship started with a run, bag jumping, crawling under the net, Tire obstacles, tire flip, battle rope etc.
“There are three sports branches in this sport Tisapa (Crossing Sports Barriers), Lightning (Individual Arts-Deformation), and The Drama (Dramatic Fighting),” an official informed.
AshiqHussain, organizer of the event said, “We need our whole body to work in coordination during an obstacle race.” He recommended practicing animal flow to work on the various aspects of the body.
“There are obstacles like caterpillars and bear crawl that require core strength and coordination between limbs. I am a huge fan of animal flow workouts; it works very well for the biomechanics required in obstacle course races,” said Ashiq.
He also suggested participants do workouts like planks, side planks, glute bridge, superman, bird dog, etc, to strengthen core muscles. “A strong core will help to clear the obstacles that require climbing and also help to maintain good form during the race,” he added.
