Udhampur, March 1: A one-day essay writing competition was organised by the Sanskrit department in Government Women College (GCW) Udhampur under the aegis of IQAC.
In which BA 2nd and 6th class students of the Sanskrit department participated in the competition.
This event was organized under the guidance of college principal Prof Nalini Pathania. In the beginning of the program, Sanskrit department head Dr. Omprakash informed about how Sanskrit language is useful in science, yoga, Ayurveda and modern daily routine in modern times. In his
speech, he said that such events are very important for the all-round development of students. Fifteen girl students of the college participated in the competition and presented Sanskrit language in the form of writing. In which BA 6th student Vanisha got first place, Sonali Seth got second place and Ninu Devi got third place. At the end of the program, Dr. Mohinder Kumar gave the vote of thanks. In this program, about fifty girl students along with professors from other departments of the college were also present.
