J&K DPAP General Secretary for Kashmir and in-charge of the Charar-i-Sharief constituency, Er. Nazir Yatoo, has urged the government to invest in education in J&K and encourage private investment to build world-class universities and colleges in Kashmir.
In a statement, Er. Yatoo said, “Every year, parents spend thousands of crores on funding their children’s education in other parts of the country and the world.
“Why can’t this money be pooled and used for the creation of a world-class university here in Kashmir?” he questioned.
He emphasized that the government should reduce red tape and allow investments to flow smoothly into creating long-term educational assets.
“Education is a long-term investment, and its results will yield in the decades to come, having a trickle-down effect on several other sectors, which will be beneficial for future generations,” Yatoo added.
He also expressed hope that local business tycoons would consider this idea, highlighting that Kashmir’s picturesque locations, lush greenery, and favorable climate could attract students from various parts of the country.
