Pahalgam, July 22: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Nunwan and Chandanwari Base Camps today to review the arrangements for the ongoingAmarnathYatra.
During his visit, he interacted with pilgrims, service providers, and officials to ensure the smooth and hassle-free pilgrimage.
At the Nunwan Base Camp, Lt Governor Sinha held discussions with senior officers, where he focused on queue management and measures taken to enhance the comfort of pilgrims. The administration’s dedication to providing essential facilities such as stay, food, healthcare, connectivity, sanitation, and water during inclement weather conditions was also reviewed.
Expressing pride in the efforts of the entire team, including the Shrine Board, J&K Police, CAPFs, Army, BRO, NDRF, SDRF, and Mountain Rescue Teams, Lt Governor Sinha commended their commendable work in ensuring the successful conduct of the Yatra. He appreciated the sensitivity of the administration towards the needs of the pilgrims and its responsiveness to challenges.
The meeting also discussed the deployment of security and police personnel, medical staff, and rescue teams to ensure the safety of pilgrims and facilitate their smooth movement.
Lt Governor Sinha emphasized that the pilgrims from across the country and abroad are now the Brand Ambassadors of J&K. He highlighted the economic benefits associated with the spiritual pilgrimage, which generates livelihood opportunities for locals and boosts tourism in the Union Territory.
During his visit to the Chandanwari base camp, Lt Governor Sinha interacted with pilgrims, sanitation workers, and service providers, taking stock of the arrangements and their effectiveness.
Dr.Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, CEO of ShriAmarnathJi Shrine Board, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Administrative Secretary of the Revenue Department Dr.PiyushSingla, and Deputy Commissioner AnantnagSyeedFakhrudin Hamid were among the senior officials who were present during the visit.
