A patient with a rare and serious cardiovascular disease was diagnosed and treated promptly by a team of doctors here at Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla on Saturday.

A health care official said that a pregnant woman was diagnosed with a rare and serious cardiovascular disease at the Government Medical College Baramulla.

“The 30-year-old female presented to the cardiology outpatient department with symptoms that led to an evaluation revealing she was suffering from aortic dissection,” the official added.

He said that this condition, which involves a tear in the innermost layer of the aorta, requires immediate medical attention and can be fatal if left untreated.

“We used all the expertise and resources available at GMC Baramulla. The patient was diagnosed and treated promptly,” he added.

Dr. Parvez Masoodi Medical Superintendent AH GMC Baramulla said that this case is a testament to the hospital’s commitment to providing top-quality healthcare to the local community.

“Rare heart diseases such as aortic dissection are now regularly diagnosed at GMC Baramulla. We have advanced diagnostic tools and highly skilled medical professionals available at the hospital,” Dr. Masoodi added.

He said that this development is a positive step forward for healthcare in the region, and it is hoped that more patients will receive timely and effective treatment for serious cardiovascular conditions in the future.
