Bandipora, Oct 19: Lok Adalat on Mact & Matrimonial Cases was held on Saturday marked a significant milestone in the pursuit of accessible and efficient justice for all citizens.
This nationwide initiative, organized under the aegis of the J&K Legal Services Authority brought together legal professionals, Judges, and community members to resolve pending cases through an expedited and amicable process.
The said Lok Adalat was held under the supervision of Chairman District Legal Services Authority, (Pr. District & Session Judge) Bandipora Mr. Khalil Ahmad Choudhary and able guidance of Mr. Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Bandipora. A total of three (03) Benches were constituted for the said Lok Adalat comprising of Presiding Officers and Members for amicable settlement/compromise of the referred cases.
The First Bench was presided over by Mr. Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman DLSA (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge) Bandipora & Mr. Susheel Singh (Additional District & Sessions Judge) Bandipora Acted as a member to the said Bench. The Second Bench was presided over by Mr. Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon, Secretary DLSA (Chief Judicial Magistrate) Bandipora and Adv. Reyaz Ahmad Shah acted as a member to the said Bench. 3rd Bench was presided over by Ms. Rahila Rashid Chairman TLSC (Munsiff/JMIC) Sumbal and Adv. Gh Mohammad Bhat acted as a member to the said bench.
In the said Lok Adalat total No. of 53 Cases were taken up by the Benches and out of which 15 Cases were settled as disposed. A total sum of 3,00,000/-was awarded to the aggrieved parties by settlement during the said Lok Adalat.
