Jammu, Jan 01: Director General of Police (DGP), J&K, R R Swain on Monday inaugurated the Jammu & Kashmir Police Grievance Redressal Portal ‘Awaam Se, Awaam Ke Liye’ to address citizen grievances and streamline interactions.
The launch ceremony, held at Police Headquarters Jammu, witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including ADGsP M K Sinha, Sunil Kumar, Anand Jain, Nitish Kumar, IGP CIV/Hqrs PHQ B S Tuti, DIsG, and other officials.
The newly unveiled portal aims to provide a structured and decentralized platform for citizens and police personnel to address grievances. DGP Swain highlighted the significance of the portal in resolving issues more efficiently at various levels, offering both citizens and the department a streamlined process. The portal allows commanding officers to check the status of applications, forward them to the concerned parties, and receive updates, enhancing the overall efficiency of grievance resolution.
The DGP commended ADGP Armed J&K for suggesting the portal’s slogan ‘Awaam Se, Awaam Ke Liye’. He acknowledged the efforts of DySP IT PHQ, Junaid Hakeem, and Director IT, NIC Baijul Ubbott, in developing the portal.
During the launch program, DySP IT provided an overview of the portal’s functionality, while Director NIC presented a demonstration. The portal offers features such as SMS and email confirmations for complainants, 24/7 availability, tracking complaint status, filing additional documents, and receiving alerts upon complaint resolution.
From the department’s perspective, the portal streamlines the entire process electronically, assigns complaints instantly to the concerned officers, and allows supervisory officers to monitor follow-ups. The DGP expressed optimism that the portal would efficiently address citizen concerns and enhance the quality and quantity of grievance resolution.
