Srinagar, July 24: A somber atmosphere prevailed at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Hall, SKUAST-K, as a condolence meeting was convened to mourn the untimely demise of Javid Ahmad, a dedicated Medical Assistant, who passed away due to a massive heart attack in the early hours of Monday.
Presided over by the esteemed Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nazir Ahmad Ganai, the meeting was attended by all the officers of the University, who gathered to pay their respects to the departed soul.
During the meeting, Professor Dil Mohammad Makhdomi, Director Extension, eulogized Javid Ahmad, highlighting his exceptional qualities of humbleness, dedication, and proficiency in his role. He emphasized the noble soul’s outstanding trade skills, which had endeared him to all who knew him.
Adding to the heartfelt remembrances, Prof. Haroon. R. Naik, Director Planning & Monitoring, recounted his experiences of working with Javid Ahmad during his tenure as Dean Students Welfare. He praised the late Medical Assistant for his honesty, hardworking nature, proactivity, and a strong inclination towards development.
Expressing profound grief and sorrow, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nazir Ahmad Ganai, referred to the sudden loss of Javid Ahmad as a great tragedy for the entire SKUAST-K fraternity. He conveyed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and assured them of all possible support in this difficult time.
The meeting concluded with a heartwarming FatihaKhani and a collective prayer to the almighty Allah for granting peace to the departed soul and bestowing upon him the highest place in Jannat-ul-firdous. “Javid Ahmad’s untimely demise has left a void in the hearts of the entire SKUAST-K community, and his memory will be cherished as an inspiration for all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
LCMA conducts mega cleanliness drive at Moti Mohalla inside lake
Srinagar, July 24: In view of Muharram, a mega cleanliness drive was on Monday held at Moti Mohalla inside the lake-by-Lake Conservation and Management Authority Srinagar in collaboration with the White Globe NGO.
The routes of mourning processions were completely cleaned in order to maintain the clean and hygienic surroundings in the said areas. In addition, the nallahs were also cleaned by solid waste management team of LCMA.
This special drive has been started on 20th of July, 2023 which will continue for 10 days.
Secretary LCMA has made a fervent appeal to general public to avoid littering in water bodies. “In view of Muharram we should ensure our surroundings especially water bodies un-littered. Our future lies with our environment and we all should collectively realize our responsibility on this front”, he added.
The main focus of this drive is to go for the cleanliness in the hamlets inside the Dal Lake, Secretary LCMA said.
Project officer LCMA, chairperson White Globe NGO and other officials from LCMA were present during the said drive.
