Srinagar, Mar 02: Closing ceremony of 08 days Bharat Darshan Study Tour and distribution of 08 wheelchairs to differently abled persons of Kashmir valley under Civic Action Programme by 10 Bn SSB Srinagar was held on Wednesday.
H. K. Singh, DIG, SHQ (Spl Ops) SSB Srinagar graced the programme as Chief Guest.
The programme started with the presentation of bouquet of flower to the chief Guest and other dignitaries like Hilal Ahmad Bhat, Principal of Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School, Batmaloo and Abdul Raseed Bhat, J&K Handicapped Association, Srinagar followed a by welcome speech by R. S. Rawat, Second-In-Command, Offg. Commandant, 10 Bn SSB.
R. S. Rawat, Offg Commandant has apprised that 10 Bn SSB has conducted Bharat Darshan Study Tour for 25 Kashmiri youth (23 students and 02 guide teachers of Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Batmaloo) from Srinagar to Lucknow – Agra – New Delhi for the period of 08 days w.e.f. 21/02/2023 to 28/02/2023 in which said students have visited in various historical places like the Residency, Imambara, Rumi Darwaza, Clock Tower, Police Control Room (Dial 112), Indira Gandhi Planetarium, Gomati River front, Lulu Mall as well as interacted with Sh. Ratna Sanjay, IPS, I.G, FtrHqrs SSB Lucknow and the Governor of Uttar Pradesh Smt. Anandi Ben Patel. They also visited the historical like Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri in Agara, Red Fort, India Gate, Kartavya Path, War Memorial & Jama Masjid and also interacted with Sh. Anish Dayal Singh, IPS, Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal in New Delhi.
The aim of the tour was to know and mingle with various culture, customs and ethos of various places in our country. This tour was to help our youths to develop a wider horizon and improve their understanding and knowledge through observation of historical places and new monuments.
Besides above, this unit has also organized community welfare programme in which 08 (eight) numbers of wheel chair distributed to following differently abled persons of Kashmir valley.Mohd Rajab Malla, Shareef Bano,Shakeela,Nazma Manzoor,Shaheen Khan,Parvaiz Ahmad Darvesh, Mehbooba and Abdul Rashid Bhatt.
Speaking on the occasion H. B. K. Singh, DIG SHQ SSB (Spl-Ops) Srinagar (J&K) has shared his knowledge of history to the students and wished to the students to become a good citizen of the country in future. He extended his gratitude to parents and school authorities and students for keeping faith in SSB. He also emphasized that such type of activities will be conducted in future too.
The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Vijay Dixit Dy. Commandant 10 Bn SSB Srinagar.
