Srinagar, August 19 : The Chinar Corps Commander visited the revered Holy Amarnath Cave today and paid obeisance on the terminal day of the 52-day-long Amarnath Yatra 2024.
The pilgrimage concluded peacefully after the sacred “Chhari Mubarak Ritual,” a significant religious event that involves prayers for world peace and humanity.
During the visit, the Corps Commander lauded the exceptional efforts of the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and various civil administration offices. Their meticulous planning and efficient security arrangements, coupled with pilgrim-friendly administrative support, helped ensure the smooth and successful completion of the Yatra this year.
Expressing his admiration, the Corps Commander stated, “The dedication of all security forces and civil administration in providing a secure and seamless experience for the pilgrims has been commendable. Over five lakh pilgrims participated in this year’s Yatra, and their spiritual journey was made possible by the tireless commitment of everyone involved.”
He added, “This collective effort ensured that devotees from across the country had a peaceful and enriching experience during their visit to the Holy Cave. Special appreciation goes to the medical teams who were always on hand to provide essential aid, ensuring the safety and well-being of all pilgrims.”
The Amarnath Yatra, which began in early July, saw a large number of devotees making the arduous trek to the sacred cave in the Himalayas.
This year’s pilgrimage concluded on a positive note, with religious fervor and peaceful proceedings marking the end of the journey, following the Chhari Mubarak Ritual, an auspicious prayer for universal harmony.
Authorities emphasized that the concerted effort of all involved not only facilitated a smooth pilgrimage but also ensured that the event remained an inspiring and spiritual highlight for the countless devotees who took part in this sacred tradition.
