Pulwama, Aug 26: Led by custodian of the holy mace, MahantDipendraGiri, a group of sages on Saturday undertook the sacred journey to the Amarnath cave from DashnamiAkhara in Srinagar, performing a significant ritual at the Shiv temple in Pampore town of Pulwama district.
The aura of devotion enveloped the vicinity as the sages chanted sacred mantras and ignited a ceremonial Hawan, invoking blessings for a safe and blessed journey ahead. A notable highlight of the event was enthusiastic participation of non-migrant Kashmiri Pandits from Pampore. The reverberations of faith were echoed by a warm welcome extended to the sages by both civil and police administration officials upon their arrival. Security forces personnel were visibly present, ensuring a secure atmosphere for the auspicious proceedings. MahantDipendraGiri expressed his satisfaction with the conducive atmosphere that prevailed during the pooja in Pampore.
He commented, “The sight of smiling faces and bustling marketplaces is heartening. It’s a departure from past instances when the market would remain closed many times on such occasions.” Pampore holds pivotal importance as a crucial stop for the Chhari Mubarak Yatra, commencing from DashnamiAkhara in Srinagar. The itinerary of the sages includes scheduled stops at Bijbehara, Mattan, and Ganeshbal before reaching the revered destination of Pahalgam.
Here, the Yatra will pause for two nights, marking a spiritual interlude before resuming the journey through the traditional route encompassing Chandanwari, Sheshnag, and Panchtarni. The pinnacle of the pilgrimage is set to occur on August 31 when the Chadi Mubarak is destined to reach the holly Amarnath cave. Amidst the enchanting backdrop of the cave, a grand pooja will be conducted, replete with Vedic mantras, Giri said. He narrated that the cave itself holds profound significance, as it is the very site where Lord Shiva narrated the Amar Katha to Parvati. The spiritual odyssey will culminate on September 2 when the Yatra retraces its steps to Pahalgam. On the banks of the Lidderriver, a final pooja will be performed, marking the successful completion of the sacred journey. The Shiv temple in Pampore, known locally as the Satishwar temple, carries the legacy of Saint Sat Sahib, revered as the Guru of Kashmir’s renowned saint and poetess, LalDed or Laleshwari.
The temple, along with other significant night halt stations such as Bijbehara, Mattan, and Ganeshbal, adds to the rich tapestry of the Chhari Mubarak Yatra.
Meanwhile, the auspicious Chhari Mubarak reached the historic Surya Temple of Mattan from Srinagar today which was welcomed by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, SF Hamid, SSP Anantnag, ADC, CMO and other officers of the district besides the other sects and beliefs of the locality along with the representatives of the MattanTirith Trust.
The Chhari Mubarak has to reach Holy cave on 31st of August on SharvanPurnima. Puja of chaddi Mubarak was held by the sadumandals and other devotees at Mattan in presence of a large number of locals and officials.
On the occasion, the DC said that every possible facility was made available for the devotees of SANJY 2023 and this time more than 4.50 lakh pilgrims visited the shrine safely, and safety and comfortable yatra was the prime concern of the administration.
