Leh, Oct 03: The Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, on Thursday organized a two-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme on Mission LiFE, Poshan Abhiyaan and Swachhata Hi Seva at the Multipurpose Hall of SDM Office, Khaltsi, Leh.
The experts and resource persons from ICDS, Health, and Education departments emphasized the importance of sustainable practices, cleanliness and waste segregation at source.
Discussions highlighted the importance of mindful consumption and the critical role of proper nutrition in eradicating malnutrition.
Speakers impressed upon the participants to adopt a balanced diet and lead a healthy lifestyle to improve the overall well-being of the society.
The Chief Guest, District Programme Officer ICDS, Gh. Mohiuddin Wani, deliberated on various welfare schemes implemented under ICDS and urged participants to focus on nutrition and balanced diet as essential elements of a healthy lifestyle. He also encouraged the adoption of sustainable practices in everyday life.
Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer CBC Anantnag, highlighted the role of CBC in the grassroots-level outreach, ensuring the citizens stay informed about government schemes and fully benefit from them.
Naseer Ahmad Rather, Field Publicity Officer CBC Srinagar, underscored the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. He noted that similar outreach programmes have been held across Ladakh UT over the past two weeks, with more events scheduled in Leh and Kargil districts until 10th October.
Departmental stalls were also set up by participating departments at the venue for on the spot delivery of services offered by them.
An open quiz and drawing competitions were held for the participants, who were awarded mementos and commendation certificates. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from officials from the sub divisional administration, teachers, ICDS workers, students and the local community.
The outreach activities in Khaltsi will continue on 4th October.
