Baghi-e-Mehtab Prostitution Case: Both accused booked under PSA

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that it has booked main accused of Baghi-e-Mehtab sex Scandal case under Public Safety Act (PSA).

 

 

In a tweet, Srinagar Police wrote, “Both the main accused of Chanpura Sex scandal case booked under PSA as well. They are :- 1) Mohd shafi hajam S/o abdul khaliq hajam R/o karimabad Pulwama. and 2) Arshad ahmad bhat S/o mohd shaban R/o Pampore, Pulwama.”

“Both of them were arrested from Bagh-e-Mehtab locality & are main accused in case FIR no 19/2023 under sections 3,4 & 8 of Immoral trafficking prevention act registered in Chanpura PS”, it said.

 

 

Earlier, on 3rd April Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have busted Prostitution racket in Bagh-e-Mehtab area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.Meanwhile Police in a statement said,”On the basis of a specific information a prostitution racket has been busted by Srinagar Police. This Sex racket was being run by Irshad Ahmad Bhat S/O Shaban Bhat R/O Kadalbal Pampore and Mohd Shafi Hajam S/O Abdul Qayoom Hajam R/O Karim Abad Pulwama and others. 

 

 

 

 

 

“The premises were raided by Chanpora Police station today, falling in the area of Bagh Mehtab . Both the persons were arrested on spot further 4 sex workers & 2 customers( all 6 are locals of Srinagar) were also detained for questioning. The whole racket was run from rented house owned by one Altaf Hussain afaqi S/o Asadullah Afaqi R/o Chanapora”, the statement reads.

 

 

Police said that FIR NO.19/2023 u/s 3,4,8 of Immortal trafficking act has been registered at chanpura PS.
