Srinagar, July 28: The Asmita Yogasana City League 2025–26, an initiative by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and aligned with the Fit India Movement, aims to provide competitive exposure to female Yogasana athletes across various cities in India.A statement issued here said that in Jammu and Kashmir, the league is being organized under the banner of Yogasana Bharat and coordinated by the J&K Yogasana Sports Association. The events are scheduled at Shri Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex, Srinagar, on July 28 and Adarsh Higher Secondary School, Shivnagar, Kathua (date as per schedule). Each venue is expected to witness the participation of over 150 female Yogasana athletes across multiple disciplines and age categories.Participation & Format:
- Open to female athletes in two categories: Under-18 (01-01-2007 to 31-12-2014) and 18 & Above (01-01-1970 to 31-12-2006).
- Traditional Yogasana is compulsory; an additional event may be included by the local organizing committee.
- Events will be conducted in single rounds as per the syllabus on the Yogasana Bharat website.
Mandatory Documents: Medical fitness certificate, risk certificate, Aadhaar copy, and passport-size photo (to be submitted by the team manager).
The J&K Yogasana Sports Association appeals to schools, colleges, and parents to encourage female athletes to participate and make this initiative a grand success. Meanwhile in Jammu, getting better of their rivals in the semifinals, JKCA Tigers and Jodhamal School have sealed berth in the finals. At KCIS Ground, Jodhamal trounced Heritage School by 25 runs. Batting first, Heritage scored 158 runs. Samik Raina top scored with 53 runs while Sanam Mahajan contributed 45 runs. Suham Mahajan took 3 wickets for Jodhamal. In reply, Heritage scored 133 runs to lose the match by 25 runs. Saksh (48), Aaran Wahi (25) and Arhan Gupta (15) were the main contributors. Arit Rai took 3 wickets, while Sanam Mahajan bagged 2. Sanam Mahajan was adjudged as the player of the match. In another semifinal, JKCA Tigers defeated JP World School by 82 runs. JKCA Tigers scored 170/7. Deyandh Raina (47), Rahat (42) and Anhad (21) were the main contributors. Imtihaz took 3 wickets, while Bilal bagged 2 wickets for JP World School. In reply, JP World School bundled out for 88 runs. Imtihas (29), Sarvegya (18) and Aatif (11) were the main contributors. Keshav was the wrecker-in-chief for JKCA Tigers, who took 5 wickets, while Ali Bilal claimed 2 wickets. Keshav Gupta was declared as the player of the match.
