Srinagar, Feb 08: Apni Party’s Chief Coordinator and District President Kulgam, Abdul Majeed Padder on Saturday said that the perpetrators who attacked and killed ex-serviceman Manzoor Ahmad Wagay in his locality, Behi Bagh, Kulgam, must be apprehended and brought to justice.
He said the terrorists responsible must face exemplary punishment. However, Padder expressed concern over the mass arrests by the police and other security agencies following the heinous terror act.
In his statement, he said, “The terrorists who killed the former Army man and injured his wife and niece in the brutal attack must be apprehended so that they face the law of the land. Such heinous terror activities cannot be tolerated.”
He added, “However, I request the administration and security authorities to ensure that random and mass arrests are not carried out in this regard. No innocent person should suffer during the course of the investigation.”
Padder also expressed deep concern over the deaths of two civilians in Baramulla and Kathua. “The security forces should have fired at the tyres of the truck instead of shooting the driver who failed to stop at the naka,” he said. “If reports suggesting that a civilian was killed due to brutal torture in police custody are true, then it is a matter of grave concern. Those involved must be given exemplary punishment.”
