Baltal, Aug 01: In a concerted effort to protect the environment and preserve the pristine beauty of the Sindh River, an anti-plastic and anti-polythene drive was conducted at the Baltal Base Camp on Thursday.
The initiative, aimed at reducing pollution and promoting eco-friendly practices, was spearheaded by the Forest Protection Force in collaboration with the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, sanitation, and allied departments.
The drive was led by the Assistant Director of the Forest Protection Force Mohd Yousuf Magray, who also serves as the Nodal Officer for the Pony Stand at Baltal. Volunteers and officials from various departments joined hands to clean the riverbanks, collecting and properly disposing of plastic and polythene waste.
This initiative is part of a broader environmental campaign aimed at ensuring the ecological integrity of the region, particularly during the pilgrimage season when the area sees a significant influx of visitors. The Forest Protection Force and its partners are committed to maintaining the natural beauty of Baltal and its surroundings, encouraging pilgrims and tourists to adopt sustainable practices and reduce their plastic footprint.
