Srinagar Nov 28: Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi Monday inspected the ongoing construction works at the shrine of Baya Payamuddin Rishi (RA) at Aishmuqam.
She assured the public that in the new Waqf Board transparency and accountability will be ensured.
“Many opportunists are hurt and disturbed by our reformatory steps and decisions, but the majority of people have welcomed our decisions. There is a big change in the shrine management everywhere but yet many more reforms are to follow,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi.
Briefing about the digitization process in Waqf, Dr Andrabi said that soon all major shrines in J&K will be under CCTV surveillance & within a few months the Board will introduce e-payment systems at the shrines. “The Waqf educational institutions will also undergo major transformations. Rent management system is being upgraded and we are hopeful to enhance our income from our assets manifold soon, “said Waqf Board Chairperson.
