Srinagar, Jan11: Inspector General, Border Security Force (BSF) Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav on Wednesday said that ahead of Republic day, patrolling and deployment along borders will be intensified.
Addressing the reporters on the sidelines of the flagging off ceremony of the Bharat Darshan Tour’ at BSF headquarters in Humhama, Srinagar. He said terrorist groups are always trying to carry out their activities and security forces along the borders are on the alert to foil any terror infiltration attempt on this side.
“We are trying always to foil such attempts along the borders in the region,” he said.
About preparations for 26 January celebrations along the borders, IG Ashok Yadav said whenever there is any bigger event, the deployment on the borders is doubled as compared to normal days.
“We have accordingly strengthened the patrolling and deployment along the borders. Many of our companies are associated with Law and Orders so that untoward incidents would be averted,” he said.
To a query whether there are any inputs of Rajouri-like incidents in Kashmir, IG BSF said there are no such inputs in Valley.
As part of the Civic Action Programme, 29 students from different schools and a teacher from Kashmir were flagged off for educational-cum-motivational Bharat Darshan Tour to Mumbai by IG BSF.
The BSF Spokesman said during the 07 days tour, this group will visit all the major tourist attractions in and around Mumbai, like the Gateway of India, Nehru Science Centre, Marine Drive, Jahangir Art Gallery, Haji Ali Dargah, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre etc spreading the message of love and peace from the valley.
“As part of its efforts to engage with border community and youth, BSF Kashmir has so far sent 1100 youth from remote areas of Kashmir to various parts of the country through several Bharat Darshan Tours,” he said.
The spokesman said during the tour, the groups are provided with free lodging, boarding, clothing and transportation. During this year BSF is going to organise 05 Bharat Darshan Tours in which total of 105 students belonging to Kashmir Valley will participate, he said.
“The aim of these tours is to acquaint the youths with various cultures, customs and ethos of our country. These tours would help in motivating the youth to develop a broader perspective, and professional opportunities in other parts of the country,” the spokesman said.
