Shopian, Feb 04: Acting on local inputs, Shopian police on Sunday evening conducted a raid on a residential house in Batpora, Shopian, leading to seizure of a significant quantity of narcotics. A woman was arrested during the raid.
During the operation, police recovered approximately 640 grams of a charas-like substance, along with a grinder and a weighing machine, believed to be used for illegal drug processing and distribution. An FIR has been registered, and a full-fledged investigation is underway, officials aid.
SSP Shopian, Tanushree, commended the team for their swift action and reiterated the police’s unwavering commitment to eradicating drug trafficking in the region.
“We cannot tolerate such destructive activities that destroy lives and endanger our society,” SSP Tanushree said. Adding,”Whoever is involved in such illegal dealings will face severe consequences. We will not rest until we break the back of this narcotism menace.”
She also underscored the importance of community cooperation in combating drug abuse. “We urge the public to come forward with any information they may have about drug peddling or related activities,” she said. “Together, we can create a safer and healthier environment for our families and communities”, she added.
