Ace Cricket Club emerges champion of KPPL Edition-4

Jammu, Feb 29: Getting the better of formidable Dream XI in a high voltage contest by 6 wickets in the summit clash, the strong team of Ace Cricket Club emerged champions to win the glittering trophy of KPPL Edition-4, organised by Lalitaditya Sports, Education and Health Organisation at KC Sports Club here.
Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K Sports Council was the chief guest on the closing ceremony, while Dr Arvind Karwani (JKAS), Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) J&K presided over the function. Sanjay Bhat (JKAS), Additional Secretary Rural Development Department; Prof Meenakshi Kilam, former Head JU Campus Kathua; Kirti Dhar, Bureau Chief Sports India JK, MK Yogi, Social Activist; SK Bansal, Arvind Koul, Bimal Tickoo, Kuldeep Raina and RL Zutshi were the guests of honour.
Earlier, batting first, Dream XI scored a good total of 162 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process.
Chander Mohan played a magnificent innings of 69 runs off 48 balls, studded with 3 fours and 5 sixes.
For Ace Cricket Club, Akshay Kaul took 2 wickets, while Somil Raina claimed one.
In reply, Ace Cricket Club chased the target in 18.4 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets.
Consistent Sidharth Bhat scored 48 runs off 35 balls, studded with 9 boundaries, while gritty Akshay Kaul contributed 37 runs off 23 balls with 6 boundaries.
Rockey took 2 wickets for Dream XI.
For his brilliant all-round display, Akshay Kaul was adjudged as the man of the match, while Sidharth Bhat was declared as the best batsman, Amit Wali as the best bowler and young Charukesh as the man of the tournament. All these winners of special prizes were presented trophies by the dignitaries, while the man of the tournament awardee was presented with a full kit bag along with a trophy.
The winners were honoured with a glittering trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 50,000, while the runners-up team was presented with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 30,000. 
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Nuzhat said that the Government was committed to promote sports in every nook and corner of the country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi.
She added that J&K Government has developed a high quality sports infrastructure in the Union Territory to produce International stuff.
“The Leagues and events like KPPL and likes serve as a launching pad for J&K youth to showcase their sporting skill and blossom at the higher levels,” added Ms Nuzhat.
Dr Karwani lavished praise on the organisers for holding the event in a most befitting manner and assured full support from the Relief Organisation to the organisers in holding such events in future also.
He said that the sportspersons are the messengers of peace prosperity and harmony.
Earlier, Anil Bhat, President Lalitaditya Sports, Education and Health Organisation (LSEHO) presented welcome address and highlighted the achievements of this Organisation.
He said, started in the COVID period with an aim to help youth not to derail from the mainstream, KPPL is gaining new heights day by day.
