Srinagar, Oct 19: Islamia College of Science and Commerce (ICSC), Wednesday clinched the title of Inter-College Cricket Tournament while defeating Government Degree College,
Baramulla by 29 runs played at Kashmir University. As per the officials the finals held at University Cricket field proved to be a game of fluctuating fortunes with ICSC holding their nerve in crunch situations. Deciding to bat first after winning the toss, team ICSC lost Ghazi Mushtaq early.
While as Captain Mohammad Hurrair looked good but couldn’t capitalize on a solid start. A match winning partnership of 60 runs between Quanain and Yasir consolidated the things.
Quanian scored 42. In the final overs it was again allrounderMuteeb who played a cameo of 30 of 12 deliveries.
Chasing an imposing target of 163 runs Govt. Degree College, Baramulla despite flashes of brilliance kept losing wickets at regular intervals, thanks to a brilliant off spin bowling in tandem by Hurrair and Muteeb taking three and two wickets, respectively.
Muteeb was adjudged Man of the Match. The cricket tournament was organized by the Physical Education Department of the University of Kashmir.
