Jammu, June 28: The workers of the Aam Aadmi Party in Jammu and Kashmir strongly protested against the BJP government for delaying the assembly elections in J&K.
The protest, according to a party statement, was led by Sandeep Sharma, Provincial Joint Secretary Jammu, in front of Maharaja Hari Singh Park.
Briefing the media persons, the party’s vice president Jammu province Rajesh Pargotra said, “When the assembly is prematurely dissolved, then the assembly election is conducted within 180 days as per the constitutional law which has also been vindicated by the apex court of India.”
The party said, “There is peace and cohesion in Jammu and Kashmir, the delimitation process has been contemplated, the voter lists have been notified and published, and the Home Minister Amit Shah has also clarified that in the hands of youths of the valley, there are smartphones and laptops instead of stones and all the political parties in Jammu and Kashmir except BJP are willing for elections, then it looks clear that the BJP is against the wishes of the public and the BJP government at Centre is aggravating the hardships of the public of Jammu and Kashmir in the negation of public representatives.”
