Srinagar, June 02: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Udhampur-Reasi Range Rayees Bhat and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar Ashish Kumar Mishra inaugurated a 24×7 supermarket in Jawahar Nagar here. The supermarket has a wide range of products, from groceries to confectionary, and offers customers a render-free service around the clock.
Situated near Radio Colony of Jawahar Nagar, the store has a unique aura attached to it. It offers the customers a unique trail into the world of products. Its uniqueness is associated with the availability of fresh fruits and grounded coffee along with the usual items of a departmental store. To provide a rich palate experience to its customers, the store has availed the bakery of the famous French Restaurant “Le Delice”.
The owner of the restaurant, Khalid Bhat, a resident of Rajbagh Srinagar said, “I had the vision of opening this supermarket for the last three years. I was at a friend’s marriage and we were in dire need of a few items late at night. We were only able to get them from a 24×7 store at Rajbagh. That’s what pricked me.”
For the convenience of the customers, the store is offering a 10% discount on all items, he added.
A total of 15 people from Kupwara and Handwara are working with Bhat whose accommodation and food have been availed by him. “The staff works for a shift of 8-9 hours a day,” the owner said.
Kamil, the computer operator and cashier of the store said, “I am very glad that stores like these are opening now because there are many people who want to balance their studies and work, and such supermarkets offer a vent to their expenses.”
Bhat is planning to improvise in the near future to avail the customers of everything under one roof at affordable prices.
