Forest Personnel along with the Protection force on Wednesday foiled a timber smuggling bid in Dardwooder Yechama area of Kangan in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Sources told Rising Kashmir acting on a tip-off about the timber smuggling a team of Forest Protection Force (FPF) led by Forester Habib Ullah laid a specific Naka at Dardwooder Yechama, during checking 56 ft of illicit were seized from the spot.
Forester Habib Ullah said that the illicit timber was seized and safeguarded under departmental custody.
He further said that one of those identified as Bilal Ahmad Lone Son of Gh Mohiuddin Lone a resident of Mangam Chattergul Kangan who was trying to smuggle this timber was caught on the spot while two more people managed to escape.
He further added that Investigations have been launched in this regard to trace out the culprits involved in smuggling.
Meanwhile Police has registered and further investigations have been taken up.
