Budgam, March 02: Despite incessant rain, health workers in Budgam district are getting ready for the polio vaccination campaign that is set to take place on March 3.
While taking a review of the preparedness for the immunization drive, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Budgam, Dr Ayoub Fateh Khan chaired a Google meet.
The meet was attended by Deputy CMO Dr Tehmeena Bukhari, the Block Medical Officers (BMOs) and other Health officials.
In the meeting, Dr Ayoub asserted that around the District Budgam, all children under the age of 5 years would be immunised against polio during the drive inspite of the inclement weather.
Healthcare workers will ensure that no child is left out and full coverage is achieved. On March 3, there will be a booth day where children will be brought to vaccination booths.
The next two days will involve door-to-door campaigns to cover any left-out child.
Dr Ayoub, while taking stock of the level of preparedness said that numerous polling booths have been set up in the district while appointing vaccinators and supervising staff to ensure that the drive is successfully organised.
He further emphasized on the responsibility of each and every individual to eradicate the scourge of polio from the world and the country and sought public cooperation to ensure that not a single child is left out.
