Ahmedabad, Oct 19: Union Minister of State, Dr Jitendra Singh Wednesday said,”Gujarat model” of development and governance is being emulated by every State of the country and India has emerged as a bright economic spot under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi despite recessionary trends in the world economy.
He said, according to IMF, while nations around the globe grapple with the volatile slowdown in terms of economic growth, India under Modi is doing better and is in a relatively bright spot compared to other countries.
Dr Jitendra Singh was addressing a series of public meetings at Khambhat, Daheda, Vataman Chowkdi, Simej and Dholka during the ongoing Gujarat Gaurav Yatra.
He pointed out that in September, 2017, Sardar Sarovar Dam—one of the biggest in the country was dedicated to the nation by PM Modi, more than seventy-one years after it was conceived by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in 1946. He said, this feat was achieved despite several opposition and roadblocks by Urban Naxals and Environmentalists. The Minister said, a multi-purpose project with irrigation, power and drinking water benefits, the dam serving the people of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Dr Jitendra Singh listed a number of achievements like UNESCO declaring Ahmedabad as India’s first World Heritage City, and Modi’s recent declaration of Modhera, a village in Mehsana district of Gujarat, as India’s first solar-powered village, or the inauguration of World’s first Nano Urea (Liquid) Plant constructed at IFFCO, Kalol in June,2022.
