Srinagar, Mar 25: At least 31 employees of Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board were put under suspension on Saturday by Chairperson J&K Waqf Board for dereliction of duties at several shrines of district Srinagar.
A senior waqf official told Rising Kashmir that the majority of the employees were suspended for their failure to maintain cleanliness at the shrines, Mosques and in associated Sanitary Complexes or ablution points.
The moves hours after Dr. Darakhshan visited the shrines of Makhdoom Sahab, Aasari Shareef Hazratbal, & Naqshband Sahib Srinagar.
“Under the directions of the Chairperson, it has been learned that several employees were found unauthorized absent when the chairperson carried out the surprise inspection,” officials said.
Meanwhile, Tehsildar J&K Waqf Board has been directed to conduct an inquiry into the matter & submit the report within 3 days to the Chairperson for further action.
