Srinagar, Apr 24: The first-ever Dallake-Wullarlake Kayak Marathon took place from Srinagar to Bandipora on Monday. The marathon, which covered a distance of 63+ kilometers from Srinagar’s Dallake to Bandipora’s Wullar Lake, was completed by a senior professional player of water sports, Reyaz Ahmed Bujal, in an impressive time of 7 hours, 52 minutes and 39 seconds.
Organized under the banner of “Kashmir Concern”, the event was not only a thrilling sports competition but also aimed to raise social and environmental awareness, promote drug de-addiction, and manage depression through various programs. The event was supervised by Dr. Touseef Ahmed, a social and environmental activist who has been working tirelessly to promote these causes in the region.
The success of this event is a testament to the growing interest in water sports and the increasing concern for social and environmental issues in the region.
