Jammu, Apr 10: Director Ayush J&K Dr Mohan Singh on Monday said that homeopathic medicine must reach public for holistic health and safe treatment. He said there is a need for making this system more evidence-based and also for clinical documentation of the success stories of homeopathic medicines.
The Director was speaking at the World Homeopathy Day event which was celebrated on the occasion of the 268th birth anniversary of Dr Samuel Hahnemann, founder of the homeopathy system of medicine, at the Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium in the University of Jammu.
Director Ayush was the chief guest while Chand Kishore, JKAS, Additional Secretary Health and Medical Education Department, was the guest of honor.
On the occasion, Dr Mohan Singh informed that very soon a 25-bedded Homoeopathic Hospital will start functioning soon in district Kathua as a part of the Government Homoeopathic Medical College.
Chand Kishore Sharma, Additional Secretary Health and Medical Education advocated the use of homeopathic system of medicine for the prevention and control of NCD and novel infectious diseases. He emphasized the need for public health outreach to propagate and promote homeopathy among common masses.
Dr. RakeshRaina Assistant Director Ayurveda, Sonam Singh, JKAS Accounts Officer Directorate of Ayush J&K, Dr. RanjanTuli, a senior homeopathic practitioner was also present in the programme along with District AYUSH officers of the Jammu Division.
Dr. B.R. Dubb, Designated Authority of J&K Board of Homoeopathy, Nodal Officer Govt Homoeopathic Medical College, Kathua welcomed the dignitaries. Various Homeopathic practitioners, Dr. G N Wani, Dr. Bhavna and Dr. SatishAtri also presented power-point presentations on different topics pertaining to the utility of homeopathy in various health conditions.
Dr. Ranjan Tuli also presented his views on the opportunities for public health and wellness in homeopathy. Dr. Nitin Magotra presented his presentation on the history of homeopathy. Ayush fraternity of the Jammu Division was also present. In the program, senior practitioners and members of the Homoeopathic Medical Association of India, Jammu wing were felicitated for their contributions and promotion of Homoeopathy in the UT of J&K.
