Srinagar, June 26: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Monday held a condolence meeting at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar to mourn the sad demise of noted Gastroenterologist Dr Gulzar Ahmad Dar who breathed his last yesterday at SKIMS hospital. He was 42.
Paying rich tributes to the deceased, DAK members prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
Saddened over the death, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan said medical fraternity stands in solidarity with the bereaved family in this moment of grief.
He said it is a great loss to the medical fraternity and his death has resulted in a great void in the field of medicine
A medical luminary, Dr Gulzar had graduated from GMC Jammu, underwent post-graduation in medicine from SKIMS and after completing his DM was working as Assistant Professor in the department of gastroenterology at SKIMS hospital.
The DAK President said Dr Gulzar was a compassionate and empathetic doctor and had attained great respect from his patients.
“His contributions in the field of medicine will be remembered for a long time,” he said.
Calling the death as an irreparable loss, Dr Hassan said medical fraternity has lost a gem of a person in the demise of Dr Gulzar.
Born in Boh Noorabad Kulgam, Dr Gulzar was a man of impeccable integrity.
“He was a noble soul and always stood a helping hand to the needy and poor. He will be sorely remembered by everyone whose lives he touched,” said Dr Nisar.
