71st B.N. Mullik Memorial All India Police Football Championship

Srinagar, Mar 14: The third day of the football championship was packed with excitement and intense competition as 32 teams (16 matches) battled it out on the field. Fans were treated to an unforgettable day of football, with some truly remarkable performances from the players. Teams fought tooth and nail to secure a spot in the next round of the competition, and they were giving it their all to top the points table.
The matches were played at four different venues: Synthetic Turf Ground, Polo Ground, Bakshi Stadium, and Kashmir University. At Bakshi Stadium, 4 matches were played, including 3 matches between women’s teams. The Manipur Women Police defeated the Jharkhand Women Police in a thrilling game, scoring 17 goals and winning the match by a margin of 17-0. Jry. No. 06 O. Bembem Devi scored 4 goals, while Jry. No. 08 (S. Rani Devi) and Jry. No. 11 (Tababi Devi) each scored 3 goals. The SSB Women defeated the CRPF Women, with the final score of 2-3. The Assam Rifles Women won against the Tamil Nadu Women by 2-0. In the men’s team match, the Puducherry Police faced off against the Meghalaya Police, and the latter emerged victorious with a score of 0-8, with Jry. No. 12 Donalius Lapang scoring 4 goals.
At Polo Ground, the match between the Sikkim Police and Chhattisgarh Police was won by the former with a huge margin of 8 goals, and the final score was 9-1. The matches between the SSB and CRPF, as well as ITBP and Maharashtra, ended in draws with a score of 1-1. Another match was played between the Assam Rifles and Tamil Nadu, which was won by the former with a score of 2-0.
At Synthetic Turf Ground, matches were played between Himachal Pradesh Police and West Bengal Police, Odisha Police and CISF, Madhya Pradesh Police and Gujarat Police, and J&K Police and Arunachal Pradesh. The spectators enjoyed the games, and the matches were won by West Bengal Police, CISF, Madhya Pradesh Police, and J&K Police, with final scores of 0-3, 0-5, 3-1, and 3-1, respectively.
At Kashmir University, matches were played between Punjab Police and Uttarakhand Police, Bihar Police and Kerala Police, BSF Police and Assam Police, and Delhi Police and Goa Police. Punjab Police won against Uttarakhand Police with a score of 1-0, while Kerala Police defeated Bihar Police with a score of 0-7. BSF Police won against Assam Police with a score of 3-0, and Goa Police emerged victorious against Delhi Police with a score of 3-2.
