Srinagar, Mar 15: Additional DG Border Security Forces (Western Command) P V Rama Sastry on Wednesday said that the situation along borders is under control and they are ready to foil any misadventure.
Speaking to reporters after a passing out parade of fresh recruits at the BSF’s Subsidiary Training Centres (STC) in Srinagar,Additional DG Border Security Forces (Western Command) P V Rama Sastry, who was chief guest at the function, said they are guarding borders and are fully equipped to deal with any eventuality.He was welcomed by Ashok Yadav, IPS, IG BSF, Ftr Kashmir & STC Kashmir. He also inspected the grand attestation parade of BSF recruit Constables.
“‘BSF guards every border of the country and makes sure there is no infiltration from across the borders. Whenever there is any such attempt of infiltration, we make sure to foil it and prevent them from entering our territory. We are totally in control of the situation,” he said.
The senior BSF officer said border guarding is a very important role for any country’s internal security and the force has been playing this role very successfully.
“We have made the borders impenetrable so that the forces which are fighting the terror, their hands are strengthened. BSF which guards borders is alert 24/7 and will foil any misadventure against the country,” he said.
The senior officer also said that there has been a decline in drone activity along the border. The drones have been used to smuggle weapons and narcotics from across, he said.
“For the last three-four years, they have been using drones. But, we have achieved good successes in tackling drones. There has been a decline in such incidents,” he said
ADG BSF said they are keeping good coordination with local police in the areas where such things happen. We have been able to arrest gangs as well, he said.
In his key address, the senior BSF officer appreciated the excellent display of self-confidence, skills and coordination which was the high point of the parade.
He applauded the recruits for choosing BSF as a career option and exhorted them to serve the nation with courage and enthusiasm.
ADG BSF also congratulated, Inspector General, Ftr HQ BSF Kashmir and the instructional teams for successful efforts in achieving the objectives of moulding constable (tradesmen) into trained BSF soldiers, giving them self-confidence and turning them into disciplined Jawans.
He also awarded medals to recruits who performed exceptionally well in various indoor & outdoor training activities.
A BSF Spokesman said the parade was commanded by Ct/WC Deepak Kumar. Five trainees from the batch were adjudged best in different competitions and were presented with trophies.
He said over the course of 44 weeks of training, the Constable (Tradesmen) gradually gained proficiency in handling different types of weapons, firing skills, law, drill and border management.
“The training has also been imparted in field engineering, field craft, minor tactics Anti- Terrorism, Counter-Insurgency, Law & Order and Human Rights etc,” the spokesman said.
