ADGP Vijay Kumar inspects security measures for Holy Cave pilgrimage

SRINAGAR, JUNE 28: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vijay Kumar-IPS, accompanied by a team of officers from various security force agencies, recently conducted a comprehensive visit to Panjtarni and the Holy Cave. The purpose of the visit was to assess and enhance the security measures in place for the safety and smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, along with IG CRPF Ajay Yadav, IG BSF Ashok Yadav, 3 Sector Commander, SSP Anantnag, and CO ITBP, meticulously inspected the security infrastructure, surveillance systems, and communication networks. The team also examined the deployment of forces on the ground, emphasizing the need for better coordination and joint efforts to achieve incident-free and smooth Yatra.
During the visit, ADGP Vijay Kumar paid special attention to the utilization of modern gadgets for enhanced security. He inspected the deployment of drone cameras, which are being used for better surveillance of the site, and advised the officers to make adequate use of these technologies to further augment security at important locations.
The officers on the ground briefed ADGP Vijay Kumar about the deployment strategy to meet any potential eventualities. He interacted with the officers to understand their challenges and gather valuable insights to further enhance the security arrangements. ADGP Vijay Kumar emphasized the importance of exemplary conduct from the deployed personnel.
The joint survey conducted by ADGP, Kashmir Vijay Kumar and the security force officers covered the entire track from Panjtarni to the Holy Cave. They thoroughly reviewed the security arrangements, assessed the condition of the path, and checked for potential risks or obstacles. ADGP Vijay Kumar expressed his appreciation for the diligent efforts of the security forces and urged them to maintain the highest level of vigilance and professionalism during the pilgrimage season.
ADGP Kashmir and the security force officers also engaged with other stakeholders involved in the pilgrimage arrangements, including representatives from organizations responsible for infrastructure maintenance and medical services. Their concerns, suggestions, and feedback were actively listened to, ensuring that their perspectives were taken into account when evaluating and refining the security arrangements.
ADGP Vijay Kumar’s visit signifies the commitment of the security forces to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the Holy Cave pilgrimage. With the enhanced security measures and the dedication of the officers involved, pilgrims can embark on their spiritual journey with confidence and peace of mind.
